When planning a full and fun selection of Cat in the Hat party supplies, the host should make sure that all items and images presented revolve around the legendary cat.
These supplies should include a set of 'meow-volous' decorations that bear the artistic likeness of this famous feline. On the walls of the party area, for example, guests could see pictorial representations of the Cat throughout the years; as taken from the Dr. Seuss storybook that started it all, the network TV cartoon that followed in 1971 as well as the current television series "The Cat in the Hat Knows A lot About That!", and the popular Mike Myers feature film, "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat" that premiered in 2003. Guests will marvel at the cat in his various evolutions (his nine lives, as it were), and also would love to see any three-dimensional representatives of the Cat in the Hat--whether they come in the form of cardboard cut outs or stuffed dolls, or even a party host in a Cat in the Hat costume.
When guests sit down to the party table, they might see yet another likeness of the Cat in the Hat posted at the center of the table, whether it's in the unique design of a cake, a plastic or paper mache cat figure, etc. And they can eat cookies and cupcakes that liken the cat's smiling face, or perhaps even a batch of bear claws baked or frosted to resemble paw prints. Even the plates and dishes that they eat from should boast images of the Cat in the Hat along with other characters from the Dr. Seuss tale.
Additional party supplies could be offered in the form of take home party favors. Young guests would love to take home small plastic or stuffed versions of the Cat in the Hat, along with Cat T-shirts and hats, stickers, decals, bouncy balls, whistles and blow outs, coin banks, and other fun knick knacks. And, as the Cat in the Hat originally started as a literary character, 'catty' school supplies such as pencils, bookmarks, notebooks, folders, etc., also would be appropriate. And guests would especially appreciate copies of the Cat in the Hat book in their goodie bags, and DVD copies of the Cat's big screen movie.
